Dr. Angela Thompson
Principal
Dr. Angela Thompson joined LMS as Principal at Ladue Middle School in 2022. She brings previous experience from Muncie Community Schools (IN), Webster Groves School District, and Maplewood Richmond Heights and in grades K-12 settings. She has taught English, reading, and math; she has coached volleyball and basketball as well. She is engaged in learning and remains networked with Upper Iowa University (BA-Reading Education), Missouri Baptist University (MA-Educational Administration), and Maryville University (EDD-Educational Leadership).
Dr. Thompson believes in the importance of Ladue Middle schoolers being involved in sports, clubs, and activities, which, as she describes it, “open doors of connection, possibilities, and purpose.” Stay tuned for more offerings for our students!
Dr. Thompson is equally passionate about supporting accessible, engaging, and relevant learning experiences that equitably support and stretch all learners. She is deeply committed to the academic and personal success of all Ladue learners!
When not at LMS, Dr. Thompson values quality time with her husband, Tavares; their children: Julius, 15, and Myles, 13; and the family’s miniature Schnauzer, Otto.

Sarah Schwartz
Assistant Principal - 6th Grade
Sarah Schwartz joined the Ladue School District in 2007 and the LMS administrative team in 2013. Before coming to LMS, she taught Spanish at three district schools: Reed, Spoede, and high school. She began her teaching career at Indiana University as an associate instructor of Spanish, followed by a year teaching middle school in the Parkway School District before coming to Ladue. Mrs. Schwartz received her bachelor’s degree in Spanish and Political Science and her master’s in Spanish Linguistics from Indiana University. After realizing she wanted to become a school leader, she completed her specialist’s degree in Educational Administration from Webster University.
Mrs. Schwartz is the administrative liaison to the math, world language, library media/technology, and practical arts departments. In her years at LMS, in addition to working with students and parents, Mrs. Schwartz has enjoyed working with curriculum, the master schedule, the 8th-grade sports program, the diversity initiatives, and Special School District. She has also had the opportunity to be a part of the team that accepted LMS's National School of Character awards and National Blue Ribbon Award, as well as several robotics awards at the state and international levels.

Scott Lackey
Assistant Principal - 7th Grade
Scott Lackey joined the administrative team at Ladue Middle School in 2013 as assistant principal. Before his current position, Scott served as a building technology coordinator and taught sixth-grade science. Before joining Ladue School District in 2001, Scott taught science and computer technology in the North Kansas City School District. Scott received his bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Missouri – Columbia, a master’s degree in Educational Technology from Lesley University, and a specialist’s degree in Educational Leadership from Webster University.
“Getting to know students is the best part of my job. As an administrator, I get the opportunity to see kids in a variety of settings, sometimes when they shine and sometimes when they need to grow. I use that information to have conversations that let each child know that we are paying attention and we do care about them.”

Dr. Solomon Knight
Assistant Principal - 8th Grade
Dr. Solomon R.A. Knight began his professional teaching career in Indianapolis, Indiana. For the last 22 years, he has served students in various capacities in the non-profit and public education sectors. Dr. Knight joined the administrative team at LMS in 2019. Before joining Ladue Schools, Dr. Knight served students in University City for six years as an alternative education teacher and administrative intern. Dr. Knight also has taught doctoral students as an adjunct professor at Maryville University. Dr. Knight earned his Bachelor’s degree from DePauw University (Greencastle), a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Bernard Baruch (CUNY) as a National Urban Fellow, and a Doctoral degree from Maryville University. Dr. Knight is a third-generation educator following in the matriarchal footsteps of his grandmother and mother.
Dr. Knight believes, “Teaching is more than a profession; it is a passion. When the work gets difficult, we must remember our “why.” My “why” is to help build strong, confident, and compassionate human beings.”

Jim Sievers
SSD Area Coordinator
Jim joined the Ladue School District as an Area Coordinator with the Special School District in July 2021. Before his current position in Ladue Schools, Jim worked as a special education teacher and assistant principal in the Hazelwood School District.
Jim received a bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Mississippi, his master’s in Social Studies Education from Webster University, and his Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from Webster University.
