  • 1954

    • The high school received its first North Central Association accreditation (the first year it was given); LHWHS was first high school in Missouri to have been designated twice as an Outcomes Accredited school.

    1982–83

    • Ladue Horton Watkins High School was named a Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education.

    1983–84

    • Ladue Middle School (East Ladue JHS) was named a Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education.

    1987–88

    • Spoede Elementary School was named a Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education.

    1991–92

    • Old Bonhomme Elementary School was named a Gold Star School by the state.
    • Old Bonhomme Elementary School was named a Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education.

    2001

    • The Ladue School District given Distinction in Performance award from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) in the first year the award was given.

    2002

    • The Ladue School District received the second Distinction in Performance award from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) in the second year the award was given.

    2002-03

    • Conway Elementary School was named a Gold Star School by the state.
    • The Ladue School District was given the third Distinction in Performance award from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) in the third year the award was given.

    2004

    • The Ladue School District was given the fourth Distinction in Performance award from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) in the fourth year the award was given.

    2004-05

    • Old Bonhomme Elementary School was named a Gold Star School for the second time by the state.
    • Reed Elementary School was named a Gold Star School by the state.
    • Old Bonhomme Elementary School was named a Blue Ribbon – No Child Left Behind School by the U.S. Department of Education for the second time.

    2005-06

    • Ladue School District received its fifth Distinction in Performance award from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) in the fifth year the award was given.

    2006-07

    • Conway Elementary School was named a Gold Star School for the second time by the state.
    • The Ladue School District received its sixth Distinction in Performance award from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) in the sixth year the award was given.

    2007-08

    • Conway Elementary School named a Blue Ribbon – No Child Left Behind School by the U.S. Department of Education.
    • The Ladue School District received its seventh Distinction in Performance award from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) in the seventh year the award was given.

    2009-10

    • Ladue Schools was awarded the “Distinction in Performance” for nine years running.

    2010-11

    • Spoede Elementary was the first school in the district to be recognized as a Missouri School of Character by CHARACTERplus, a division of EducationPlus.

    2011-12

    • Ladue Middle School was recognized as a Missouri School of Character by CHARACTERplus, a division of EducationPlus.

    2012-13

    • Old Bonhomme Elementary School was recognized as a Missouri School of Character by CHARACTERplus, a division of EducationPlus.
    • In May, Ladue Horton Watkins High School ranked 188 in the nation and 1st in the state by Newsweek.

    2014-15

    • Ladue Middle School was named a 2014 National School of Character by The Character Education Partnership, a national advocate and leader for the character education movement.
    • The Ladue School District was named one of St. Louis’ Top Workplaces by Workplace Dynamics.
    • For the second year in a row, Ladue Horton Watkins High School took the top Missouri spot on The Daily Beast’s annual ranking of Top High Schools. It ranked 7th in the midwest and 70th in the country out of 1,200 participating schools.
    • Ladue Middle School was recognized as a 2015 Missouri Gold Star School by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

    2015-16

    • In 2015, The Washington Post ranked Ladue Horton Watkins High School the third most challenging high school in Missouri behind one magnet school (Metro Academic and Classical) and one private high school (John Burroughs).
    • Ladue Middle School was recognized as a 2015 National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education.
    • Ladue Horton Watkins High School was ranked third in Missouri and 346th nationally in the the U.S. News and World Report’s list of best high schools in America. In Missouri, 528 high schools were ranked, with LHWHS being the highest ranked public school.
    • The Ladue School District was named one of St. Louis’ 2016 Top Workplaces by Workplace Dynamics.
