Carpool Procedures

  • When you arrive at Spoede, we want to keep our students safe during carpool. Please help by doing the following:

    1. Turn off your cell phone.
    2. Drive onto the lot at the entrance and into one of the four lanes; if you have a kindergarten student, you may choose to use lane 4 (closest to the curb), as this lane has more time to load. (See map)
    3. Wait for your child inside your vehicle.
    4. As the cars in front of you move, please move forward.
    5. Your child will safely enter and exit the car on the driver's side only. Students are NOT allowed to cross the carpool lanes.
    6. Once your child is loaded safely in the car along with other children in your lane, you will be released to exit. When exiting Spoede Elementary School, cars will be able to exit left or right, as we are trying to clear walkers from campus before cars begin to move.

AM Carpool Procedures

    • Drop-off in the morning is only in front of the school.
    • The morning drop-off occurs between 8:30-8:55 a.m. Please do not arrive before 8:30 a.m., when adult supervision is present.
    • Students will enter school at 8:40 a.m. No cars will be allowed to drop students off in front of the building before 8:30 a.m., except for those students enrolled in BASK.
      • BASK families need to follow the traffic flow indicated on the map.
    • Turn off your cell phone as soon as you pull into the lot.
    • Enter the lot as indicated on the map.
    • All cars will pull into lane four for drop-off.
    • Cars must continue to pull up until directed to stop.
    • ALL children will exit cars at the same time.
    • All children must exit the car from the driver's side ONLY.
    • No one other than students may get out of the vehicle.
    • No parents or children will be allowed to cross the carpool lane at any time.
    • Once your child has exited the vehicle, you will be directed to proceed.

For this system to work safely, children should not be released from cars until directed. Also, all front doors to the school will be open, so it is not necessary to only release students at the main door. Cars will enter and leave as one large group, and then the lane will be reloaded. For this reason, no one except students should get out of the car.
