Frequently Asked Questions

  • Throughout the recruiting season, the Human Resources Department receives numerous questions regarding the interview process. Some of the more frequently asked questions are answered below to assist you.

If you have additional questions regarding the interview process, please contact the Human Resources Department at (314) 983-5311 for assistance.

When inquiring about an opening in the Ladue School District, please do NOT contact any building administrators. All materials should be submitted online with the application.

Q: What materials should be sent with applications?

Resume, cover letter, certifications, transcripts, and references.

Q: How and when will I be considered as a candidate for any position in my area of certification or interest?

All candidates must apply online. If you are interested in a position for the Ladue School District, please watch the Employment Opportunities section postings and follow the directions to apply for specific positions.

Building administrators will first consider candidates who have indicated interest online for specific positions. The administrators have access to information and develop the pool of candidates for a particular vacancy from appropriately-qualified individuals. All qualified candidates will be considered. The hiring process is ongoing throughout the year as vacancies occur. Therefore, please resubmit your application to current job openings to be considered, even if you have previously applied for a similar or identical position.

Q: What factors are considered before hiring?

Many criteria are reviewed before offering a candidate a position, including information in the online application, qualifications, background experiences, education, references, a criminal background check, and responses received during the interviews and online assessment.

Q: How many years of experience will apply to the Ladue Schools Salary Schedule?

Experience up to the maximum number of steps in each track may be granted to qualified candidates.

Q: After I have been interviewed, at what point will I know if I will be hired, and how will I be informed?

After the interviews, the building administrator forwards a recommendation to Human Resources. A representative from the Human Resources Department will call to schedule an appointment with the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources. During this scheduled appointment, an offer may be extended. After the recommended candidate has accepted the position, the building administrator will contact the candidates who were interviewed and were not recommended for the position.

Q: What will my teaching salary be?

Salaries are determined by education documentation and whole years of teaching experience in an accredited school district. View the Salary Schedule.

Q: Where can I find information about benefits?

Please visit the Salary & Benefits page.

Q: If I work as a substitute or a teacher assistant in the district, will it increase my chances of being hired as a teacher?

While substitute teaching or serving as a classroom assistant does offer you an opportunity to become more acquainted with the district schools and building administrators, it does not guarantee you will be hired for a teaching position. We are always looking for the best fit for a teaching candidate to fill an available opening.

Q: Should I stop by to meet or call the building administrators?

Please do not contact building administrators directly. In fairness to the building administrators and other candidates, you should not visit the buildings without prior approval from an administrator in Human Resources.
